Job Description:
iSphere is on the lookout for a motivated and detail-oriented
Junior Network Engineer to join our downtown Houston team for a
lon-term / on-going opportunity. The ideal candidate will have
foundational knowledge of network systems and a desire to grow
their expertise in network engineering, security, and
troubleshooting. This role involves supporting and maintaining the
organization's network infrastructure, collaborating with internal
and external teams, and ensuring the reliability and security of
our systems.

Key Responsibilities:
Network Administration and Troubleshooting:
Support and maintain Fortinet technologies, including FortiGate and
Fortinet fabric.
Work with Cisco network equipment, ensuring operational efficiency
and reliability.
Assist in diagnosing and resolving network performance,
reliability, operations, and security issues.
Provide support for risk assessments, penetration tests, and
incident response efforts.
Collaboration and Strategy:
Work with internal teams to review strategies and requirements for
network solutions.
Serve as a liaison between users, vendors, project management, and
technical teams to address questions and implement revisions to the
solution architecture.
Security and Compliance:
Administer network and computing devices/systems that enforce
security policies and audit controls in client environments.
Recommend and coordinate the application of patches, fixes, and
disaster recovery procedures in response to security breaches.
Support internet/extranet security, monitor intrusion attempts, and
assist in cybercrime response efforts.
Technology Insights and Maintenance:
Maintain a strong understanding of networking technology needs,
particularly in relation to security and cloud infrastructure.
Monitor emerging trends and recommend improvements to current
network strategies.
Physical and Onsite Requirements:
Travel regularly to locations in Sabine and Beaumont as needed.
Lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Cato Networks (preferred but not required).
Foundational understanding of networking technologies, protocols,
and best practices.
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and security principles.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Requirements:
Willingness to travel as required (East Texas)
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Commitment to learning and developing technical skills.
