us.Huntsman is seeking a Capital Projects Team Lead supporting the
Performance Products Division located in Conroe, Texas. This
position will report to the Sr Engineering Manager.Job ScopeTo
manage the capital project process and resources at the Conroe site
including, FEED, detail engineering, construction, commissioning
and reporting.In summary, as the Capital Projects Team Lead, you
will:
- Manage the Huntsman and Contract engineering capital projects
groups at Conroe site.
- Manage capital projects from design through commissioning and
assign project managers for larger projects.
- Act as the site capex coordinator (SCC) as defined by corporate
for routing and approval of capital expenditure requests. Manage
the capital expenditure database for the Conroe site.
- Ensure the continuous flow of capital projects from process
design through construction and commissioning.
- Oversee the financial forecasting, tracking and reporting
process for capital projects.
- Perform the duties of fixed asset custodian for the Conroe site
which includes maintaining the fixed asset ledger and performing
quarterly field audits.
- Conduct small expense project prioritization meetings with
operations and assign design work as appropriate.
- Review and approve capital project expenditures according to
approved scopes of work.
- Develop and present project schedules, forecasts and overall
status as required.Other general responsibilities:
- Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be
assigned by supervisor.
- Assists other employees in accomplishment of Huntsman company
goals.
- Participates in and completes company-required training
programs.
- Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as
set forth by the company.Qualifications You must possess the below
minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this
position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum
requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top
candidates.The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work
for Huntsman in the United States.Minimum Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or
Electrical Engineering with 10+ years refinery or chemical
manufacturing industry related experience.
- Preferred: Project management experience in the chemical or
petroleum industry with 5+ years specific experience.Certificates,
Licenses, Registrations
- Project management certification considered a plus.Skills and
Knowledge
- Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and
Microsoft programs
- Must have an in-depth understanding of capital project
economics analysis and be able to prioritize work to obtain the
required goals.
- Must be able to develop and maintain capital project tracking
mechanisms for reporting of expenses and key performance
indicators.
- Should possess the ability to work with and direct a variety of
styles, personalities, ages, and values. Must display a high degree
of integrity, trust, and competence and be willing to accept
positive change, difference of opinion, conflict, and/or compromise
in the day-to-day problem solving process.
- Must be able to track project progress, identify and remove
barriers, provide effective feedback and serve as a resource to
personnel under this position's supervision.
