We have an exciting opportunity for a System Engineering Team Lead for Orion Camera to join the team with Nexus, a teammate company.
The System Engineering Team Lead for Orion Camera will:

• 
  
• Manage the SE activities of the Orion Camera.
  
• Support engineering flight project schedule, procurement documentation, budget, and system requirements documents.
  
• Develop and support sub-project requirement and verification data packages to support architecture requirements, design, verification/validation, operations, and sustaining engineering.
  
• Conduct product life cycle reviews, coordinate integration, verification, and validation activities.
  
• Work with requirements to align with hardware specifications while understanding the verifications.
  
• Perform system engineering functions of projects and provide user input feedback during the design process.
  
• Work with ground testing and flight operations testing of hardware with end item documentation.
  
• Review verification and validation reports to verify compliance with requirements.
  
• Participate and contribute to system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews, and critical design reviews.
  
• Participate and contribute to support the development of Orion Con-Ops.
  
• Perform and review system-level architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall electrical design and performance.
  
• Participate in test, verification, and operation of the as-built hardware.
  
• Work with team members and leads to identify risks, develop risk statements, and plan risk responses.
  
• Work and present schedule and progress to customers.
  
• Have good communication and organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  
• Perform other duties as required.

  • Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering and normally possesses 5 - 10 years of related experience. License and certification may be required.
    
  • 10 years of relevant experience in systems engineering.
    
  • Knowledge and understanding of SE&I processes, methodologies, tools, and technologies including model-based systems engineering.
    
  • Knowledge of test principles, tools, and processes needed to develop test requirements.
    
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection.
    
  • Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings.
    
  • Able to organize and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision.
    
  • Experience working in a team environment.
    
    Requisition Preferences:

    • Knowledge of Flight Hardware and/or Flight Processes/Paperwork.
      
    • Experience with NASA processes (including EA-023).
      
    • Knowledge and experience with DOORS Next Generation.
